There are some important facts about rabbits and hutches that you need to understand if you expect to raise a healthy and thriving bunny. You have two options when it comes to providing a home for your rabbit: an out-of-doors rabbit hutch or an inside rabbit cage. Usually, pet rabbits are raised inside and rabbits kept for meat production are raised outdoors. However, pet bunnies can just as easily be successfully raised outdoors if there is insufficient room in the house.

Three of the sides are typically made from lumber although the fourth is wire. The base will also be constructed with an all-wire mesh while the roof should be solid and removable for trouble-free cleaning. The rabbit hutch will typically rest on four legs made of wood which serve several purposes. First of all, it maintains cleanliness in the inner area by permitting the droppings to fall to the ground instead of piling up inside the rabbit hutch. Second, it can keep the rabbit safe from wild predators. There are two key advantages when housing your critter inside: You won’t need to worry about poor climate conditions or wild predators. And seeing as they are in your home, you won’t be able to ignore them. You’ll be more apt to play with them or let them scuttle around once in awhile, which is always a good idea. The negative is that you must clean their litter tray more frequently. It’s not a huge chore, but it needs to be done often.
